However, with a little planning and effort, you can navigate the holiday season without derailing your progress.


Here are some tips to help you stay on track with your fitness goals during the holidays:


1. Plan ahead.

  • Review your holiday schedule and identify potential challenges, such as parties or family gatherings.
  • Plan healthy snacks to bring to events, or bring a healthy dish to share.
  • Schedule your workouts in advance and make them a priority.


2. Make exercise a part of your holiday routine.

  • Go for a walk or run after a meal.
  • Do a home workout before the guests arrive for a party.


3. Don't deprive yourself.

  • Enjoy your favorite holiday treats in moderation.
  • Balance holiday indulgences with healthy meals and snacks.
  • Practice mindful eating to avoid overindulging.


4. Stay hydrated.

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Avoid sugary drinks, such as soda and juice.
